FEELING GENUINELY CONFIDENT AND SURE OF YOURSELF STARTS FROM WITHIN
This is something I get asked a lot "What do I need to do to appear more confident online?".
Specifically, how to feel genuinely confident when you’re showing up online. I’m not talking about just looking confident; I mean really feeling it deep down. Because when you feel it, others will feel it too.
1. Get Clear on Your Message: Know Who You’re Talking To
First things first, if you want to feel confident online, you need to be crystal clear on who you’re talking to. I’m not just saying, “Oh, my ideal client is a 30-something entrepreneur.”
I want you to dig deeper. Have you taken the time to ask your clients what they’re really struggling with? Do you understand what they desire, what they dream about, and what keeps them awake at night?
When you truly know your audience—because you’ve done the research, asked the right questions, and listened—you’ll naturally feel more confident in your messaging.
You’ll know that what you’re saying is hitting home for the people who need to hear it.
2. Clear Your Blocks: Get Your Nervous System Onside
Now, I want to talk about what’s going on inside you.
Because the truth is, if your nervous system is all over the place, it’s going to be tough to feel confident, no matter how much you prepare.
We all have our stuff—past traumas, limiting beliefs, those nagging voices in our heads.
I want you to start working on clearing those blocks. Maybe that’s through breathwork, meditation, or even some NLP techniques.
When you can calm your nervous system, you create this sense of peace that allows you to show up in a way that feels strong and centred.
3. Set the Scene: Make Your Environment Work for You
Let’s not forget about your physical space. This might sound simple, but it’s powerful. How’s your camera setup? Is your lighting good? Is your space free of distractions?
When you take the time to create a calm, organised environment, it helps calm your mind too.
It’s like giving yourself the best chance to succeed before you even hit that “Go Live” button.
And honestly, when you know you look good on camera, you feel better—no shame in that!
4. Prime Yourself: Get in the Right Headspace
Before you show up online—whether it’s a live video, a webinar, or just a story—take a moment to prime yourself.
I’m talking about doing whatever you need to do to get into the right headspace. You have the power to change your state.
Maybe you take a few deep breaths, strike a power pose, or put on that one song that always gets you pumped up.
The goal here is to feel energised and ready to go. When you do this, you’re not just faking confidence—you’re actually creating it from within.
5. Remember Your Wins: You’ve Got What It Takes
Something that really helps when you’re feeling a bit shaky is to remind yourself of how far you’ve come. I want you to take a moment and think about the transformations you’ve been through and the clients you’ve helped.
Write it all down if you have to.
This isn’t about boasting; it’s about reminding yourself that you’re more than capable.
You’ve done this before, and you can do it again. You are enough, and you’re exactly where you need to be.
6. Embrace Your Uniqueness: Lean Into What Makes You, You
The thing you've got to remind yourself of EVERY SINGLE DAY: no one else has your unique blend of experiences, knowledge, and personality. That’s your secret sauce. So, I want you to embrace that.
Don’t try to be like everyone else online—lean into what makes you different. When you’re truly yourself, people will naturally be drawn to you.
Authenticity isn’t just a buzzword; it’s the key to real confidence.
7. Manifest Your Success: Attract the Right Opportunities
I know this might sound a bit woo-woo, but stick with me—manifestation is powerful.
Read the following, then close your eyes to do this visualisation exercise. I want you to see yourself as the confident, successful person you’re becoming. Picture yourself thriving online, connecting with your ideal clients, and making a real difference. The key here is to FEEL the emotions - use as many as your 5 senses as possible.
Paint the picture in your mind that is going to make you feel certain about yourself and who you are as an expert in your field and leader.
Imagine your clients talking positively about YOU, what words they're using? who are they talking to? how excited are they? What are they sharing?
Imagine your DMs getting filled with enquiries, imagine them coming one by one...Imagine login in to your bank app and seeing one payment coming through, one after another, after another, after another...How does that feel in your body? Allow yourself to smile and embody that energy.
When you do this regularly, you start to align your energy with your goals, and that’s when the right opportunities begin to show up. Confidence isn’t just something you feel—it’s something you create.
8. Stay Consistent: Confidence Comes with Practice
And here’s a little secret—confidence builds with consistency. The more you show up online, the more natural it’s going to feel. It’s like building a muscle. You’ve got to keep at it, even when it feels uncomfortable at first. Trust me, the more you do it, the more confident you’ll become.
You’ve Got This!
Remember, showing up with confidence isn’t about being perfect—it’s about being THE REAL YOU. We want to feel you and see you. We want to know who you are and what you stand for. We want to connect with YOU.
Do the inner work, get clear on your message, set yourself up for success, and embrace who you are.
When you do all of this, you won’t just look confident—you’ll feel it. And that’s when the magic really happens.
So, go out there, be brave, feel limitless, and show the world what you’ve got.
I’m cheering you on!
